scratchZack Taherian, an upcoming Senior in Guilford High School, loves video games. He taught himself Scratch (a free tool to learn how to code) to make a few simple games on his own and now he’d like to teach you too! Zack is a certified teacher of Scratch through MIT. If you have an interest in coding and/or gaming, then join this class and learn how to make your own games!

In all good fun, Zack will teach you the basics of Scratch – how to create and manipulate sprites, move them around, create variables, and organize blocks of code. As the course progresses, each member will have created one or more Scratch projects to share with the group!

This is an ongoing course that will meet at the library every Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm throughout the summer. There is possibility for it to continue into the fall as well! It is suggested that you bring your own laptop, but the Library does have a limited supply that can be borrowed for the class.

Free and open to all students in grades 7 to 12. Please register.
