cardgameFlex your creative muscles to design, create, and iterate a card game in this hands on game activity and lecture. Ken Thompson, Assistant Professor of Game Design at the University of Connecticut and award-winning game designer, will lead this game design workshop.

In this workshop we explore how games are developed and how anyone can make a game. Ken and the group will discuss key elements of the game design process such as Mechanics, Dynamics, and Aesthetics; including what they are and how they impact the decision making process. By the end of the workshop, participants should have a clear understanding about what game design really is as well as resources to continue their pursuit of game design independently both in analog and digital form.

Free and open to all students ages 10 and up. Please register.
