Our spring book discussion series with Mark Schenker on two novels by Toni Morrison was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic. We will present the discussion on Toni Morrison’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Beloved, as a zoom program in October. Morrison, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, died in August 2019.
Morrison was the first African American woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. The Swedish Academy lauded Morrison “who in novels characterized by visionary force and poetic import, gives life to an essential aspect of American reality.”
Copies of Beloved will be available for check out at the Reference desk.
Mark Schenker is Senior Associate Dean of Yale College and Dean of Academic Affairs.
This series is made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Guilford Free Library.
Please register with your name and email address. Once registered, you will receive an email invitation to join the zoom program.
