The Grapes of Wrath tells the story the Joads, Oklahoma tenant farmers who lose their farm during the Great Depression and who cross the country as migrant workers, traveling to California in a search for opportunity.
The film is widely considered to be one of the greatest American films of all time and the definitive movie depiction of the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. In 1989, it was among the first 25 films to be selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry, for it’s cultural, historical or aesthetic significance
