“It ain’t god’s will what happens to miners. We’re down here. We know the score. God don’t have one damn thing to do with it.”
So claims one of the characters in the play Where the Rain Never Falls — the story of two miners trapped after a roof fall. As they await rescue, they do what they can to survive and try to come to terms with each other.
Ric Siler, an actor and playwright, will join actor Norman Marshall to present a reading of the play virtually. Siler and Marshall also performed the play as a radio drama on NYC’s WBAI Radio.
Where the Rain Never Falls is the second in Siler’s trilogy of plays about coal miners, along with That Lonesome Valley and Working Man Blues. The play has also been presented by the Abingdon Theatre and the TRU Voices Reading Series in New York.
The performance will be presented as a Zoom Live Webinar. Please register with Zoom below.
