Fall migration brings numerous species back to and passing through Connecticut in addition to our year-round residents. With so many birds flying about it can be difficult to determine which species you are looking at, especially in non-breeding and juvenile plumage. But with the right tips it gets much easier. In this presentation CT Audubon Society’s Conservation and Education Coordinator Joe Attwater will discuss tips on identifying species coming through this time of year. This talk will be followed by a walk led by Joe on October 7th at 9:30am on the Paul Trail of the Guilford Land Conservation Trust. Joe will help participants learn how to identify birds in the field using shape, size, and color. The Paul Trail is an easy walk of about 1.5 miles and has Rock Outcrops overlooking Guilford’s 150-acre Great Harbor Marsh with views of Long Island Sound in the distance.

This Library program is co-sponsored with the Guilford Land Conservation Trust.
