Only between 10% and 15% of all professional chess players worldwide are women or girls, yet girls are just as adept at the game as boys. This series aims to help close that gender gap by providing instruction and gameplay opportunities in a supportive environment for girls in grades 1 to 8.
Dr. Ani Deshpande, a United States Chess Federation Certified Chess Coach and two-time Wisconsin State Chess Champion, along with Dr. Bonnie Mackenzie, pediatrician and chess enthusiast, will host this girls’ chess club.
Tuesdays, October 3rd through November 14th (skip Halloween 10/31), from 6:00-7:00pm. Registration required as space is limited.
