The Metropolitan Opera talk series resumes with a Assistant Professor Janna Baty presenting Catán’s “Florencia en el Amazonas.”
Janna has been honored to record many of Vali’s works for voice and orchestra or chamber ensemble, appearing on Vali: Flute Concerto/Deylaman/Folk Song Set No. 10 (Chandos); and Toward That Endless Plain (BMOP Sound) on which she sings his Folk Songs, Set No. 8 and Set No. 14. She has performed these extraordinary works with orchestras and chamber groups across the continent. Since 2008, Baty has been on the voice faculty of Yale School of Music. She was born in Boston and lives in Hamden, CT.
