James and Martha Shyrock

James and Martha Shyrock, of Bloomington IN and Kenilworth IL, bought the land of 35 Vineyard Ave (plots 8&9) in summer of 1939. The cottage on that plot had been destroyed in the hurricane of 1938. In 1955 the Shyrock's built a house on the land at a cost of $32,000. James Shyrock had been the president and directing manager of Audit Bureau of Circulations in Chicago before retiring to Vineyard Point. He died June 29, 1968. Martha Shyrock died June 10, 1974.
