We are excited to offer an online mentorship program for students looking for some extra musical guidance from high school students! This program will match younger students with a high school mentor that plays the student’s instrument.
Students will be provided with individualized tutoring, as well as small group tutoring based on skill level. Lessons will be personalized and focus on individual pieces of the student’s interest, helping with school pieces, and skill based learning. Larger groups will offer students a chance to work with peers of similar skill-levels and introduce playing and/or bowing techniques.
Students may request days and time slots of their choosing upon registration and individual lessons will go for 20-30 minutes. Group lessons will meet for 30 minutes once a month, and students will be notified of the day/time a couple days in advance!
As of right now, we are offering these lessons mainly to students playing string instruments (violin, viola, cello, and bass). However, if your student is interested in getting help with a different instrument, please still fill out the form and we will try our best to find a high schooler to tutor.
This program is offered to students from 2nd to 8th grade, provided that they are currently playing in a school program OR have been playing for at least a year, as we are unable to accommodate beginners. We plan to run this program until the end of the school 2021 school year, but stay tuned for summer opportunities as well!
