You can help turtles get across roads safely this summer by alerting motorists to slow down. Using stencils and paint, make your own “Turtle Crossing” road sign from a recycled yard sign. Signs will be donated to local licensed wildlife rehabilitators who will put them up along roads in the area they have gotten injured turtles from. If you know of a place in town or nearby that you see turtles crossing the road, you’ll have a chance to share it with rehabbers at this event. You’ll also get the chance to meet some of our local turtle species.
Ages 8 & up. Space is limited. All supplies provided. Paint can be messy so wear clothing you don’t mind getting ruined. Registration required for each individual looking to make their own sign. If siblings want to collaborate on a single sign, register together.
Saturday, May 28th from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
This program will take place outside on the library lawn, weather permitting. You will be notified via email if it is postponed due to rain.
