Michael retired in the spring of 2018 and thought about some hobbies that he could do during retirement. He decided to try painting even though he never painted before and had no idea if he had any painting talent whatsoever. He found that he enjoyed painting very much and he’s continuing to grow as a painter. Michael was inspired by his dad who started painting when he retired and by an eleven year old girl who Michael coached in soccer who is an excellent painter.
Michael takes oil painting classes at the Guilford Community Center and has an excellent instructor who helped guide him through the painting process. She has helped him grow as a painter and continuously provides suggestions and support during the class. He enjoys painting and finds it to be relaxing and stimulating at the same time.
Mike Walker will display larger oil paintings of landscapes from scenes around Connecticut. Mike’s landscapes have a flair for impressionism and abstract interpretations for each particular scene.
