Book clubs at the library
The library runs several fiction and nonfiction book clubs. If you are interested in joining, please complete the book club membership form. Some clubs are full but you have the option to join a wait list if this is the case.
Fiction:
The majority of our fiction book clubs discuss popular contemporary fiction.
- First Tuesday Fiction FULL
The First Tuesday Fiction club meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month in the Library’s Historical Room. The club focuses on fiction by female authors with strong female protagonists. - Third Tuesday Fiction
The Third Tuesday Fiction club meets at 3 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month in the Library’s Historical Room. - First Thursday Fiction
First Thursday Fiction meets at 3pm on the first Thursday of the month in the Library’s Historical Room. - Third Thursday Fiction FULL
Third Thursday Fiction meets at 1 pm on the third Thursday of the month. - The Victorian Novel
The Victorian Novel book club meets on the second Thursday of the month at 4pm to discuss the noted works of fiction from the Victorian era.
NonFiction:
- Nonfiction Book Club
The nonfiction book club meets on the third Wednesday of the month from 2pm to 3pm. Please contact Lisa Coady if you are interested in attending a discussion. - Cookbook Book Club FULL
The Cookbook Book club meets at noon on the third Tuesday of the month in the Library’s Historical Room. The club, led by Janyce Siress, selects a different cookbook each month from which members select and prepare a recipe and bring it to the Library to share with the club.
Book Club Shelf
We purchase multiple copies of the fiction and nonfiction books that our book clubs discuss. These are available for anyone to borrow, so feel feel to browse our book club shelf!
Supporting Services
Reference librarians can request books for private clubs who need multiple copies of their selections. Stop at the reference desk to inquire. Please be advised that we cannot expedite multiple copies of books with high holds.
