On June 16th, Bloomsday, people around the world gather to commemorate Ulysses, the epic novel by James Joyce that is set in Dublin on that day in 1904. This year the Guilford Free Library will celebrate Bloomsday with dramatic readings from the novel by members from our Guilford community.
Dr. Lee Jacobus, Professor Emeritus, University of Connecticut, Joyce, Milton and Shakespeare scholar and the author of the World of Ideas book series will introduce the novel and provide context for the readings.
If you love Ulysses, if you have never read Ulysses or if you have tried to read Ulysses without success, please come to celebrate and appreciate this great work of literature.
Special libations and tasty treats will be provided.
