This exhibit, “Double Vision”, grew from friendships between artist Lou Paffumi and members of Sisters in Coth art quilters. Each quilter has created a piece inspired by one of Mr. Paffumi’s paintings.
Sister in Cloth is a diverse group of art quilters living and working on the Connecticut shoreline. We are bonded by our common love of fiber art. Weekly meetings provide an opportunity for members to receive feedback on works in progress. Viewing members’ finished work is inspiring and also leads to learning more about various art techniques.
Working both individually and collectively, our goal is to promote art quilting. Quilting events and group exhibitions are two of the ways we use to inform the general public.
As artists, we continually strive to grow our vision and assimilate new influences. Group challenges allow us to work individually, yet collectively. These challenge provide us with variations on a theme and often become the basis of our exhibits. Our work has been shown locally, nationally, and as far away as France, Japan, and Australia.
