Join the Guilford Poets Guild on Sunday, November 22, from 1:00–2:30 PM as we gather to remember and celebrate the poetry and life of Gordy Whiteman, lovingly known as the Bard of Guilford.
Gordy’s words capture the spirit of Guilford with warmth, humor, affection, and a deep appreciation for the people and places that made it home. During this special gathering, we’ll share selections from his three published works: Remembrance, Whitfield Crossing, and Hometown Guilford.
Gordy was truly a Renaissance man—a poet, storyteller, historian, and devoted member of the Guilford community. His work reflects his love of Guilford, his family, and the many people whose lives he touched. Selections from his three published works will be read.
Please join us as we celebrate Gordy’s remarkable voice and keep his words—and his love for Guilford—alive.
This program is free and open to all.
