Edith Reynolds was the recipient of the 2024 Sea Grant from UCONN for her work “What Sustains,” which will be featured in the library exhibition. More than twenty paintings explore the vital role of mollusks in Connecticut’s ecological and economic landscape, celebrating both their natural beauty and their significance to the state’s sustenance and economic development. Through her art, Reynolds brings attention to these often-overlooked marine creatures, highlighting their importance to coastal communities and environmental health while showcasing her deep connection to Connecticut’s maritime heritage.
