Join us at the Guilford Library for an evening of poetry and community. The night begins with an open mic—bring a poem to share or come to listen—followed by a featured reading from acclaimed poet Patricia Cleary Miller.

Patricia Cleary Miller is the author of several poetry collections, including, from BkMk Press, Starting a Swan Dive, Can You Smell the Rain? and Warmer Than Yesterday. The latter two were launched in Newbridge, Ireland, at the Gerard Manley Hopkins Festival, where she received the James McKenna Award. Her poem “Mother Won’t Wear Polypropylene” won a Pushcart Prize. She taught literature and writing at Rockhurst University in Kansas City for 32 years, serving variously, as chair of the English Department and the Humanities Division, founder and editor of the Rockhurst Review, and member of the faculty executive committee. Her education includes the A.B. from Radcliffe College (honors in French composition from Harvard), M.A. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, and fellowship at Harvard/Radcliffe’s Bunting Institute.
