From 87-year-old English director, Ken Loach, The Old Oak tells the story of an English mining village that has fallen on hard times, and the rift between the villagers who meet in the area’s last remaining pub, The Old Oak, and a group of recently-arrived Syrian refugees. The formation of an unexpected friendship between TJ, who owns the pub, and Yara, who has just moved into the village with her family, opens up new possibilities for hope and reconciliation.
