Louis Comfort Tiffany is known for his company’s exquisite glass lamps and vases. In his lifetime, 1848-1933, he designed many colored glass windows including several in the New Haven area, as well as glass mosaics and enameled desk sets. Come hear an introduction to his unique art, whose forms emerged from his deep love of nature, and were also influenced by his travels and collecting of ancient glass.

Marcie F. Slepian, Ph.D. received an A.B. from Brown University in Art and a Ph.D. from Yale University in the History of Art. She has taught at Wesleyan in their Masters Program and at Fairfield University. She has taught at Wesleyan in their Masters Program and at Fairfield University. She has been an educator in the Connecticut schools and currently teaches at the Bigelow Senior Center in Fairfield. Marcie has given art lectures for Shoreline Village at the Guilford Free Library since 2016.
