Vaping 101: A guide for parents and educators

This presentation will provide an overview of the landscape of e-cigarette use in middle and high school youth, including national statistics and recent trends.  Learn the risks of vaping nicotine, the effects on the brain and body, and concerns in youth-directed marketing.  Parents and educators can learn strategies to help navigate engagement with youth and our communities around vaping nicotine.

About the presenter:  Melissa Gordon is a Research Associate and Project Manager at Yale School of Medicine working in current community and youth trends in substance use, behavioral addiction, and mental health.

This event is a collaboration between Guilford D.A.Y., Guilford Youth & Family Services, and Guilford Free Library.
