Kim obtained a BA in Fine Arts and Latin American Studies from Brandeis University. She also studied art in Seville, Spain. Kim used art constantly during her years as a bilingual elementary teacher in Los Angeles, her home for many years. She sketched and painted intermittently while raising a family and started working in acrylics consistently in 2017. Kim began experimenting with abstract and contemporary art, playing with expressionism and lots of color.
Her work has been shown in Southern California and on the shoreline here in Connecticut. Kim also has a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy and is currently working as an art teacher in New Haven. She sings in a band on the side.
