“You can’t pour from an empty cup” – A common quote that illustrates an all-too-common problem amongst caregivers who experience compassion fatigue and reach burnout from the highly demanding responsibilities of providing care to others.  Come fill your proverbial cup for one hour a week for six weeks through guided meditation and mindfulness exercises at the library, presented in collaboration with Guilford Youth & Family Services.  This program is specifically focused on those who care for special needs children; whether you’re a parent, aide, or other caretaker, you deserve to make time for yourself to meditate and recharge, while also learning additional strategies for continued mindfulness and stress management at home.  This program meets on Wednesdays from October 8th to November 12th, at 6:30-7:30pm.  Space is limited, so please register to be guaranteed a spot in this class.  Registering once adds you to the list for all 6 sessions, so please plan to attend all 6 weeks and inform us if there is a week you cannot make it or if you can no longer attend at all so that others may be able to attend.

This program is full. Please call the library at (203) 453-8282 to be added to the waiting list.
