Are you an animal lover? Do you have a pet that you love very much, or would you like to have a pet one day? Do you enjoy helping animals? Then this program is for you! Join therapy dog Theo, his owner Marie, and children’s librarian Ms. Laney as we read pet-themed stories, share our own pet experiences, and make a pet toy that will be donated to a local animal shelter.
This program is created with the Mutt-i-grees curriculum, developed by Yale University’s School of the 21st Century in partnership with North Shore Animal League America, to teach children empathy, resilience, and emotional awareness while promoting the adoption of shelter animals.
This program will take place on Wednesday, July 1st from 3:00-4:00 pm, and is available to children aged 5 and up. Registration is required. Theo and Marie will be hanging around afterwards from 4:00-5:00 pm for Paws & Read, if you would like to sign up for a slot to privately read to Theo after the program.
