Explore the remarkable works of Irish literature with Dr. Lee Jacobus, Professor Emeritus at the University of Connecticut, renowned scholar of Joyce, Milton, and Shakespeare, and author of The World of Ideas series.
At each session, Dr. Jacobus will introduce the featured book, providing historical, literary, and cultural context to enrich the reading experience and discussion.
The series begins with The Táin (translated by Thomas Kinsella) A sixth century Irish epic, also known as The Cattle Raid at Cooley, featuring a legendary conflict between the kingdoms of Ireland.
Copies of The Táin will be available for checkout at the reference desk.
