The Guilford Poets Guild invites you to the Second Thursday Poetry Series for a special evening featuring the powerful work of Natasha Gambrell. In honor of Native American Heritage Month in November and Indigenous Peoples’ Day in October, we are thrilled to have her join us with her background as a Tribal Councilor of the Eastern Pequot Nation.
Bring your own words or simply come to listen! The night begins with an open mic at 6:30 PM, followed by Natasha Gambrell as the featured poet at 7:00 PM.
Natasha Gambrell is a Tribal Councilor of the Eastern Pequot Nation. A 2015 graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, she teaches high school English and has been actively involved in the Eastern Pequot archaeology field study since 2008. Passionate about representing her tribe, telling their story, and helping the next generation, Gambrell also proudly demonstrates and explains the traditional dances of her people.
Whether you’re a longtime lover of poetry or new to the art, all are welcome! Come experience the voice and vision of a compelling poet.
