Discover Italian with a course designed for beginners! This 8 week hybrid series alternates each week between in-person sessions at the library and online via Zoom. This series combines essential grammar, practical language skills, and a taste of Italian culture. Through a mix of listening, reading, and writing activities, students will gain confidence in speaking Italian. With personalized handouts, interactive presentations, and a variety of resources—including videos, music, and games—learning is both effective and fun.
Fabiana Papaleoni is an experienced Italian teacher and tutor with a strong academic background in both Italian Language and Literature, and Violin Performance. She graduated from the UniversitĂ di Lettere e Filosofia in Parma and the Conservatorio di Musica “Arrigo Boito,” combining her love for language and music into an interdisciplinary approach that enriches her teaching. Fabiana’s teaching journey began in Italy as a private tutor and later as an elementary school teacher. After moving abroad over 15 years ago, she focused on teaching Italian as a second language, earning certifications in English and Norwegian. She has taught in the UK, Norway, and the US, where she has lived since 2018 in Guilford. In her free time, Fabiana enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running, and attending concerts and theater performances.
This 8 week hybrid series alternates each week between in-person sessions at the library and online via Zoom on Mondays from 3pm – 4:30pm. The first class is Monday, January 13th. Classes will run for 8 weeks through March 17th (No class on January 20th and February 17th).
Attendance is expected for consecutive sessions.
