This 5-week course is designed for students who have completed a beginner course and can handle basic everyday situations, such as introductions or ordering in a restaurant. It builds on knowledge of nouns, articles, and regular verbs in the present and past tenses. Through guided practice, the instructor gradually shifts to speaking mostly in Italian, using authentic materials like texts, news, interviews, and videos to strengthen conversation skills, expand vocabulary, and build confidence.

Fabiana Papaleoni is an experienced Italian teacher and tutor with a strong academic background in both Italian Language and Literature, and Violin Performance. She graduated from the Università di Lettere e Filosofia in Parma and the Conservatorio di Musica “Arrigo Boito,” combining her love for language and music into an interdisciplinary approach that enriches her teaching. Fabiana’s teaching journey began in Italy as a private tutor and later as an elementary school teacher. After moving abroad over 15 years ago, she focused on teaching Italian as a second language, earning certifications in English and Norwegian. She has taught in the UK, Norway, and the US, where she has lived since 2018 in Guilford. In her free time, Fabiana enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running, and attending concerts and theater performances.

Classes will meet on Friday afternoons from 2pm – 3:15pm on 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, and 4/3 at the Guilford Free Library.
