The Moses Gunn Play Company in partnership with Greenheart Productions presents a staged reading of “17 Minutes” by acclaimed playwright Scott Organ. “17 Minutes” is the length of time Sheriff’s Deputy Andy Rubens stood outside of a school while a shooter was inside. In the aftermath, he must come to terms with the choices he made during the tragedy. In Scott Organ’s spellbinding play, “17 Minutes” explores the communal and residual effects of the shooting through Andy, who struggles with his own complicity in the tragedy. One man’s search for redemption prompts a community to ask – what will we be known for?

“17 Minutes” was originally produced by The Barrow Group in 2020, where it enjoyed a successful run. Don’t miss this compelling and timely drama. After there will be an audience talk-back.

*Tune into WPKN 89.5 FM State of the Arts Friday, October 17 at 12pm for an interview about the play. Or access the interview after at wpknarchives.
