Join father, son and daughter trio Phil and Dan Rosenthal and Naomi Sommers as they perform original and traditional folk songs at the Guilford Free Library. Phil, Dan and Naomi have been performing together over 30 years (often as the Sommers Rosenthal Family Band, including mother Beth on bass fiddle). Ithaca based, Naomi has released several acclaimed albums of original songs, and has performed and recorded with Lisa Bastoni (as the Gray Sky Girls), Jefferson Hamer and others. Dan is a successful jazz trumpeter, composer and educator in the Boston area, serving as Assistant Professor of Ear Training at the Berklee College of Music. He leads his own Quintet, and has performed at jazz festivals around the world. Phil was lead singer and guitarist in the seminal bluegrass band The Seldom Scene, and his compositions have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe, and Nick Cave. He was appointed Connecticut State Troubadour in 1994.

The library provides seating on the patio but you are welcome to bring your own chairs. In the case of rain, the concert will be moved inside to the Meeting Room.

This program is free and open to all.
