Bob Kolb (sax) is well known in Connecticut and New England as a tenor, alto, and soprano sax player and teacher. He has played with Sonny Stitt, Johnny Griffin, Dave McKenna, Dave Brubeck and others. He has backed performers Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Nancy Wilson. He soloed on “Unforgettable” behind Natalie Cole at her New Haven appearance and soloed with Sammy Davis, Jr. at the Oakdale Theater. He has performed numerous times in New York City and Boston. He has a master’s degree in music from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
David Childs (piano) has been working as a pianist for 30 years. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and then moved to the Far East where he traveled and worked as a pianist for 3 years. He played in the Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto region. Presently he performs full time in the tri state region in a variety of venues and has shared the stage with such jazz greats as Jimmy Heath, Eddie Bert, James Moody, Lionel Hampton, Larry Ridley, and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. David is the pianist at the Stratford Unitarian Church. In addition to performance Dave maintains a full-time private studio and serves as a faculty member for Continuo Music in Redding, Ct, and Westport School of Music.
Steve Roane (bass) has played and recorded with jazz greats Frank Strozier, Eddie Bert, Sir Roland Hanna, John Lewis, Diane Schuur and many others. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, and Lincoln Center and recorded on numerous albums. Steve has composed over 200 works for string and woodwind quartets, jazz ensembles and modern dance. Steve is active as a private lesson instructor of a variety of instruments and is also an artist and audio engineer.
