The Guilford Free Library proudly announces the publication of The Guilford Papers Plus. It includes “The Guilford Papers” series of pamphlets written by Nona Bloomer, Penny Colby, and Norman Macleod. The “Plus” part of the book is a selection of talks highlighting the contents of the Edith B. Nettleton Historical Room delivered by Nona Bloomer, Historical Room Librarian from the time it opened in 1979 until her retirement in 2004. The library will be celebrating the publication of this limited edition with a reception on April 11 at 4pm in which copies will be available for purchase.

Leonor “Nona” Bloomer received a Bachelors of Arts cum laude from Harvard/Radcliffe College in 1958; a Master of Library Science degree from the Carnegie Library School, Carnegie Institute of Technology, now Carnegie Mellon University, in 1962; and a Master of Arts in philosophy from the Graduate School of Yale University in 1977. She was appointed Guilford’s first Guilford Room Librarian, a part-time position, in 1979 and retired as a full-time Historical Room and Reference Librarian in 2004.
