While it’s good to go to the library any day, Take Your Child To The Library Day is a special nationwide celebration of all things library! This national initiative started here in Connecticut to encourage people everywhere to see all the things the library has to offer for children of all ages. It is celebrated on the first Saturday in February, though some libraries vary. Libraries offer a variety of activities that day, from big events to casual drop-ins.
This year, Guilford Free Library is hosting a Spinderella Storytime, with everyone’s favorite giant plush spider and mascot of the children’s room, Spinderella. You know her for her changing seasonal fashions and book suggestions, you love her for her whimsy and style, and now you’ll get to hang out with her while listening to spider-themed stories and songs followed by a spider craft. All ages welcome. Registration appreciated so we can prepare enough craft supplies.
Saturday, February 6th from 10:00-11:00am.
While you’re here, don’t forget to register for a library card if you don’t have one, check out some books and other materials, and take a fun bookmark and pencil.
