different colored hands each holding a heart shape

Each month we explore a different social-emotional topic or growing-up milestone through picture books, discussion, and activities which are appropriate and accessible to young children. Caregivers go home with a list of further resources and the confidence to continue teaching empathy. In May, we will be discussing museums. We will read picture books about what museums are, their importance, museum etiquette, and how to support them. All registered participants who attend will receive a free children’s book on museums. Register below.

Try your hand at pottery! Pinch those pots! Make those vases! Compete for the title of ultimate sculptor extraordinaire and prizes! Similar to the British tv show, contestants will compete to complete a pottery challenge. At the end of the program, projects will be judged on overall functionality and appearance. Prizes will go to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Free and open to all in grades 5-12. Registration is required.

children working in the garden

Plant and care for the library’s native plant butterfly and pollinator garden!  Learn about the importance of native plants and how you can help.  Do crafts and participate in citizen science/community science activities, where ordinary citizens/community members help scientists by gathering local data.  Help the library raise monarch caterpillars to be released as butterflies at the end of the summer.
