Use paint and beads to glamorize your own wooden bee or butterfly decoration, which you can then take home and hang in your window to deter birds from accidentally bumping into the window and hurting themselves. Birds see the reflection of the window as open sky and often fly right into it, causing concussion and serious injury. Putting up a decoration in the window breaks up the image and discourages birds from thinking they can fly there, thus preventing accidental injuries to birds. This program is messy with paint, so dress appropriately. Due to the choking hazard presented by small objects, children must be aged 4 and up to participate. Adults are expected to stay and assist young children. Registration appreciated, but drop-ins welcome, while supplies last. Saturday, August 16th from 11:00am-12:00pm. Led by long-time volunteer crafter Linda Srebnik. Register below.
