Hour 1: Stage Comfort & Voice
90% of performing is simply having the confidence to stand at a microphone and speak comfortably. Start with a simple but empowering ritual: plugging in the mic, doing a sound check, and giving each student the opportunity to take the stage. Then participate in a signature activity such as ‘Stepping Stones’, where participants follow creative prompts that invite them to introduce themselves in imaginative ways.
Hour 2: Ensemble Creation
Read a short poem as a group, then split into smaller teams of “actors” and “directors.” Each group responds with a mix of movement, spoken word, comedy, or music to create a collective performance. With lights dimmed and music underscoring the process, the final share is always moving, energizing, and a powerful reminder of belonging.
Free and open to all ages 9-17. Registration is required.
