Solar Eclipse

Event Details

On Monday, April 8th, starting when the library opens at 9:00am, there will be a limited number of eclipse glasses that we will be giving away.  There will just be a basket of them in the lobby.  First come, first served, one per person, while supplies last.

WE ARE ALL OUT OF GLASSES!

The eclipse for our location will start at 2:13pm, reach 90% solar eclipse (the maximum eclipse Guilford will see) at 3:27pm, and be finished by 4:37pm.  Those with proper eye protection may gather on the lawn or the green to view the eclipse. Remember not to look directly at the sun or solar eclipse without proper eclipse-viewing protection (regular sunglasses are not sufficient). For those who prefer to watch the totality in safety and comfort, we will screen the NASA live feed in our meeting room, with snacks!
