Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year is a holiday followed by many Asian cultures that use the moon as the basis for their calendar year rather than the sun. There are 12 animals that embody the spirit of the year and they change over to the next animal during this new year celebration. 2026 is the year of the horse. In celebration, we will be reading a story about the Chinese zodiac horse, getting a holiday craft kit to take home, and have the chance to meet a real, live miniature horse! The mini therapy horse will be present during the story and afterwards attendees will have a chance to approach and pet the horse, but not ride it.
This program is open to all ages, and children are expected to be calm, quiet, and respectful of the horse and human presenters at all times. This is for the safety of both the animal and the people present. Anybody unable to behave safely in the program will be asked to leave.
Registration is required for this program and space is limited. This program will take place on Friday, February 27th from 4:15-5:45pm.
