Vocalist Julie Harris will be joining forces with talented pianist Carter Bryan to present an “Evening With The Gershwin’s.” This marks the tenth time Harris has performed in this Series and she is delighted to be joining forces with Carter Bryan, who is a student at The Manhattan School of Music, and has a wide following both in Guilford and New York.
From Sinatra to Sting, Java Groove is a small 4-piece band with a big sound. It all started in 2015 by the founding members of the swing band, The Shiny Lapel Trio. When people ask what kind of music they play, they tell them, jazzy, swingy, ballady, kinda stuff. The idea behind Java Groove is to have a stripped-down swing band with the same effect and vibe of a horn section.
The Subliminals is an instrumental jazz/groove project from southeastern Connecticut. The group is a collective of diverse musicians whose talent is truly amazing, bringing years of experience to each performance.
The Kenn Morr Band tours in support of its latest album, Still Shining, a collection of heartfelt original songs featuring rich three-part harmonies and soulful musicianship.
Long-time popular solo artists, T-Bone Stankus (guitar) and Brian Gillie (keyboards) have teamed up as The Elderly Brothers, serving up mint-condition “oldies” rock ‘n’ roll with pitch-perfect harmonies and soulful improvisations as fresh as the originals. No sleepwalk down memory lane with these guys. Their radiant renditions, audience interaction, dancing groove and dose of mischief make their ‘50s and ‘60s rock-hop repertoire a unique and contagious kind of fun, and a joyous celebration of some good ol’ fashioned shake, rattle and roll. sh BOOM!
The Shoreline Jazz Quintet or SJQ includes Mike Bimonte on drums, Deepak Cyril D’Souza on saxophones, Rich Meyers on vibraphone, with Steve Roane on acoustic bass and Steve Wood on electric guitar.
Join Laura Clapp, Pete Wilhoit and Marc Amendola for a set of rock covers and originals on the patio. This will be the third show for this exciting new trio, featuring local musicians who have toured extensively and shared the stage with legendary artists such as Sting and Howard Jones.
Join local group Take Two and Call Me in The Morning on the Library’s patio. This vocally driven band of doctors/health care providers play an eclectic mix of covers from the 60’s – 2000’s.
Join father, son and daughter trio Phil and Dan Rosenthal and Naomi Sommers as they perform original and traditional folk songs at the Guilford Free Library.
